This time we have used the cooperative learning technique "Drop your pens".
First, it's time for some silent reading.
Then, time to listen the same information using the smartboard.
Now, we drop our pens.
Time to think alone. Writing is NOT permitted!!!
After 5 minutes, we share our ideas with the group.
Finally,we take our pens and complete the worksheet. We are not allowed to speak now.
Once we have checked the answers, we transfer the information to a foldable that helps us organize and retain the information.
Look at our foldables. They look GREAT!!!!
Hello everyone! My name is Blake and I am from Iowa in the USA. I´m 29 years old and have been in Spain for over 5 years. These past few years have been some of the best of my life! I love everything about living in Spain and hope to stay for a long time. I came to Cabrini last winter and it has been an absolute blessing. The students are well behaved, eager to learn and have a fantastic level of English. The teachers work so well together creating a wonderful learning environment for the children. I work with 5th and 6thgrade as well as a few classes in Secondary. Aside from teaching at Cabrini I am an official Cambridge examiner which helps me to prepare our students for the very important KET and PET exams. I am so happy to be working here and I can´t imagine that there is a better school or better students anywhere!
We also use the coopearative learning tecnique 1-2-4 in Social Science.
First we try to put the historical events in order using the book
Then, we check the answers in pairs.
Finally we check them again with all the members of the group.
When we are sure about the answers we transfer the information to the storyboard.
This is how they look like!!!
Using flip books in the classroom engage both visual and kinaesthetic learners.

We have compared and contrasted the male and female reproductive cells using a cooperative tecnique called Roundtable. This is very useful to learn how to think.
We divided a paper into 4 sections:Introduction, description of sperm, descripition of ovum and conclusion.
Then, we took turns to write ideas in the four sections.
After we checked the answers with the teacher and the whole class we completed an individual worksheet with the right answers in our notebooks.
This is how the final copy looks like.
This is how we learn Natural Science with the coopearative learning tecnique 1-2-4.
First, it's time to read and think alone for a few minutes.
Then, we share the answers with a classmate.
After that, we share the answers with the rest of the group.

We have to work quickly because our teacher controls the time with a digital and interactive clock.
